There are five of us officially registered owners in our kennel - myself (Sandra), my daughters Kirsten and Brenna,
my son Shaun and his wife Annie, together we make up an eccentric crew, and of course the person behind the scenes - my husband
Curt - who is a very necessary part of the whole outfit.
I have loved dogs all my life, my grandfather bred Kelpies and Foxies years ago, and my father was involved with Greyhounds
and Sydney Silkies, the latter he loved dearly.
I became involved breeding Pekingese and later German Shepherds back in the 60's and 70's. Then with 4 children life
became a little too hectic, I kept my male Santalina Marajah, who was the canine love of my life and the delight of my childrens
life, sadly he was poisoned and I could not bring myself to replace him.
A few years ago I met a now good friend of mine named Carol Dawson, and she introduced me and the family to our new love,
a lovely gold Cocker Spaniel boy named Taffy ( Aust.Ch. Gunwise Kiss of Gold), who won us over completely with his fun loving
nature and extreme good looks.
Taffy can never be parted from his favourite toy, a squeeky bone, until one of the girls, Spice or Katie, try to steal
it off him. He is our foundation stud dog and produced beautiful babies for us, of course with the help of some very lovely
girls.
Brenna is married to Ray and they are the very proud parents of their twin girls Alexandra and Brearnna, and live very
happily in Young with Brennas' cocker boy "Outlaw" Tashvia Out for Glory, Kirsten is married and has two boys - Lochlan and
Julian - and her very lovely Siberian Huskies, especially her Sonny. Shaun and Annie have three girls and a
boy and a beautiful Afghan named Willow. All our breeds are very much a part of our kennel. My eldest son
Darrell is married with a son - Liam - and unfortunately not involved with our kennel, although still shares our love of dogs
having two of his own and a menagery of other animals as well.
I'm so proud that in 2008 Kirsten, Shaun, Darrell and their cousin Micheal, started the country group "The Battlers"
and released their first CD in June.
I love quiet walks in the country, good historical, romance and mystery novels, a good hot strong cup of tea and I especially
love showing our dogs.
What are our goals? Well we have thought long and hard about this and our goal is to breed cocker spaniels, that are
sound, that have the capacity to do the work they were originally bred for, with the happy outgoing nature so typical of the
cocker spaniel, we want to breed to the standard. Who would want to change the merry little cocker? Not us.
We hope you take some pleasure as you browse our site and if you are looking for a puppy and your final choice is a cocker
spaniel, there are many reputable breeders out there. We are sure you will find life with your dog as rewarding and as loving
and a fun time as we have.
